Chang were formed in the summer of 1999 and made their live debut in September 2000 at TJ's in Newport.
The four members had been involved in various bands around the Newport area for some time.
George (drums), Keith (bass) and Neal (guitar) were members of Guinea Worm who were featured on the first release by Newport's S&M recordings.
Dave was frontman for Hang-Ups and then Rhino Key where he first teamed up with Keith. After Rhino Key split-up they looked to start another band. Neal and George had both moved back to the area after playing in various bands around the London area.
Within a year of their first gig they were recieving a lot of favourable reviews from the music press. This generated an encouraging amount of interest from record companies but the band split in the summer of 2003 following a recording session for BBC Wales.
George was replaced by Aaron on drums to fulfill their outstanding gigging commitments.
Neal and Keith have now formed a new band with Wales' finest drummer Paul and will be realeasing some new tracks in 2005. The new material is darker and heavier than before but should still appeal to fans of Chang.
